Our client is seeking a friendly First Line Support Engineer to join their team and assist in delivering exceptional IT services to small businesses.

As a 1st Line Support Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and be part of a team of like-minded professionals who share your passion for all things tech.

You will play a key role in helping (usually non-IT) end users with their phone and email queries, and escalating more technical or complex concerns to other team members.

The Role

  • Be the first person a client speaks with by phone or email about their IT help/support needs.
  • And then provide the remote technical support the end user needs so that operational problems and queries are diagnosed and resolved as quickly as possible.
  • Learn quickly how to identify when tickets need escalating to other team members.
  • Manage a busy workload of service desk/IT support tickets.
  • Ensure service requests and projects are completed on time and service desk tickets are resolved in line with agreed service levels.
  • Learn and develop your IT skills including furthering your knowledge of Windows (Desktop and Server), Office 365 and Microsoft Azure.
  • Onsite support and installation of hardware and software.
  • Develop your knowledge and skills so that you are able to specify, recommend, provide, configure, and implement many varied items of equipment including desktops, servers, printers etc. and supporting software in accordance with client requirements.

About You

If you to have the following experience and personality traits you will thrive as the team’s new 1st Line Support Engineer:

  • Hands-on experience of Windows (Desktop and Server), Office 365 and Microsoft Azure.
  • 6-12 months experience in an IT-related role.
  • Good communication skills - written, face to face and an excellent phone manner.
  • Good team player and a great person to have on the team.
  • An attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Full UK Driving License (desired).

This is an in-person role, primarily office-based but occasional site visits will be required, for which use of a company vehicle will be provided in most instances.
