An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an Electrically Bias Maintenance engineer to join an established business based in St Helens.

The Role: 

We are a multi-national food wholesaler looking to recruit a Site Maintenance Engineer to work in our distribution centre in Haydock.

You will form part of a small engineering team providing support to our large 420,000 sq ft food distribution depot which handles ambient, chill and frozen goods

You will be required to work 40 hours per week, working Mon to Fri, on a variety of shift patterns and also to cover call outs and on a 3 weekly rota basis including one Saturday in 3. You will be expected to work a split shift system between the hours of 06:00 - 18:00 hrs and overtime when necessary.

What do we need from you? 

  • Previous experience in the maintenance & servicing of warehouse & office facilities – minimum of 5 years
  • Multi-skilled calibre with qualifications to an electrically recognised status
  • Reasonable knowledge in LV electrical systems and HVAC 
  • Handy man skills preferable i.e. basic plumbing, carpentry etc 
  • a self-motivated, committed team player who has a proactive approach to the development of the engineering department
  • able to work at height & multi temperature environments
  • a flexible and adaptable approach to spontaneous challenges
  • a strong knowledge of current health & safety legislations and preferably IOSH qualified or above
  • able to work to strict budgets
  • an analytical approach with excellent problem solving abilities
  • experience of mechanical services would be advantageous.
  • Hold a clean UK driving license
