Our client is a leading global Industrial Gases and Engineering company, delivering high quality, gas processing solutions for a variety of industries, including healthcare, chemical, manufacturing and food & beverage.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Facilities Engineer to work out of their main Merseyside site, with regular visits to local satellite sites. You will be responsible for supervising contract personnel and actively support the sites SHEQ goals and targets.

As the Facilities Engineer your duties will be;
  • Prepare, issue, monitor and control Permits to Work, incorporating contractors risk assessments.
  • Undertake site safety inductions for all personnel undertaking work on site, and maintain induction records.
  • Operate the SAP Planned Maintenance System by planning and coordinating maintenance activities.
  • Prepare plant for maintenance and inspection as required, by executing physical and electrical isolations.
  • Inspect and check all operating plant and machinery on a regular basis.
  • Diagnose faults on plant and machinery, provide feedback and raise work orders for rectification.
  • Develop a good understanding of all gas related queries, problems/performance issues and effectively support the problem-solving processes.
  • Act as senior person on site for plant emergencies and implement appropriate Site Emergency Plans.
  • Participate in the sites on-call rota system.

The successful Facilities Engineer will have the following skills;
  • Qualified/Time Served within an Electrical/Mechanical/Instrumentation discipline.
  • Must have knowledge/experience working within a Chemical or Processing industry.
  • Previous experience within a Facilities Engineer role would be ideal.
  • Must have some SHEQ knowledge/experience. IOSH/NEBOSH certification would be ideal.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ability to work alone/on own initiative.
