Leisure Duty Manager

We are looking for a Assistant Manager to come and join our team here at the

Pyramid Leisure Club St. Helens.

For this role you will be responsible for supervising and maintaining a safe environment within our club, communicating with our members to ensure they are enjoying our facilities in a safe manner.

The club is operates from 7.00am - 9.00pm mid week and 8.00am - 6.00pm weekends

Shift patterns will be fixed but are mainly evenings and weekends.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or Emergency Responders Qualification

The successful candidate must have the ability to interact with our members/guests to ensure we are meeting our high standards of customer service;

Previous lifeguarding and management experience would be essential

A positive can do attitude with the ability to prioritise tasks and work well on their own initiative. Be enthusiastic with excellent communication skills,

The Pyramid Leisure Club is based at the Mercure hotel St Helens. We have been operating now for nearly 10 years and weve recently set out a new vision and plan, and were working hard in our health club to deliver it.

To ensure its success, we need you!

This bright and modern health club boasts a state-of-the-art gym which include CV equipment and a massive range of resistance machines as well as a free weights area. We also have a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi as well as a 17-metre indoor heated swimming pool.

Centrally located in the town of St. Helens, just off the M62 and less than 5 minutes walk from St. Helens Central train station. The hotel itself has recently just been through a massive refurbishment and the new owners are starting to create a buzz around the town that: "The Mercure St. Helens is the place to stay".

We would hope you have the following:

  • Minimum 2 years managerial experience
  • RLSS Emergency responders(or willing obtain the qualification when in post)
  • Experience in taking payments and taking bookings.
  • Providing information about activities.
  • Maintaining equipment.
  • Demonstrating equipment and checking that customers are following safety regulations.
  • Supervising swimming pool users.
  • Swimming pool maintenance and safety.
  • Cleaning and tidying all areas and facilities, including pool areas and changing rooms
  • Provide First Aid if needed

Expected hours: 30 per week
