MIS Manager

We are seeking an MIS Manager to provide front-line management and support to our team, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of funding rules and learner eligibility. The successful candidate will facilitate the production of weekly error-free ILR files, compile and validate the annual course file and associated fees, and oversee the College’s MIS enrolment and compliance processes.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Understand various funding methodologies to support the MIS team and College Managers.
  • Ensure audit compliance relating to all funding bodies.
  • Oversee compliance processes, including PDSATs and FRMs, and highlight risks.
  • Contribute to the planning, running, and management of the MIS Department.
  • Develop efficient working practices and make recommendations.
  • Use 4CAST for business and curriculum planning.
  • Manage the MIS Team, ensuring workloads are prioritised and service standards maintained.
  • Provide regular feedback on task progress and departmental priorities.
  • Work closely with other managers to assess the accuracy of MI data and implement corrections.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Level 2 in English and Maths.
  • Level 4 or professional qualification in a relevant discipline, or qualified by experience.
  • Proven track record of successful staff management in an MIS environment.
  • Substantial experience in an MIS environment and in developing and implementing data and administrative systems.
  • Experience with a range of IT packages and developing effective working relationships.
  • Understanding of the MIS requirements for FE and HE institutions.
  • Knowledge of College enrolment procedures and mechanisms.
  • In-depth understanding of FE audit compliance, including FRM reports and PDSAT software.
  • Knowledge of Funding ILR/HUB processes.
