Our client, a manufacturing company near Burtonwood, Warrington, is currently in a phase of substantial investment and expansion and is actively seeking to hire a Maintenance Engineer. They operate on a 3-shift pattern (Week 1: 6am – 2pm, Week 2: 2pm – 10pm, Week 3: 10pm – 6am) with a salary of £46,000. Benefits include an annual bonus of up to £3,000, 27 days of annual leave and discounts on their products and high street brands.

Vacancy overview

You'll join a committed team of 6 skilled engineers, with some members having been with the business for over 20 years, highlighting the longevity and genuine care for staff. The role will encompass reactive and planned maintenance, as well as opportunities to participate in engaging project work

Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including inspecting, testing, and repairing machinery and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with machinery and equipment to identify root causes of failures.
  • Collaborate with production operators and other departments to prioritise and address maintenance needs promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities using the company's maintenance management system.
  • Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and processes to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies during maintenance operations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices to optimise production processes.

Required experience

  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in engineering or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
