CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER

Role Description

  • Create and deliver projects to drive headcount savings and cost reductions.
  • Serve as a facilitator of continuous improvement implementation and employee involvement.
  • Devise and test solutions, rolling out new ways of working.
  • Drive functional projects, identifying risks, issues and benefits.
  • Perform workplace audits where required.
  • Process mapping, value stream mapping, identifying inefficiencies in productivity and removing them.
  • Support the risk assessment process.
  • Develop a CIL (Cleaning, Inspection and Lubrication) and an AM (Autonomous Maintenance Schedule) for all production lines, working in conjunction with the Engineering Manager and the preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Introduce 5S in all areas, creating 5S champions and audits for all areas.
  • Analyse and remove all non-added value tasks and reduce the 8 wastes.
  • Experiences of Lean Manufacturing Principles in a Manufacturing or similar environment including Lean, 6 Sigma and Kaizen.
  • Experience of factory design, layout, machine operation, facility process flow and continuous improvement.

Skills and Qualifications

  • A recognised qualification or demonstrable experience in implementing Lean/6 Sigma.
  • Experiences of Lean Manufacturing Principles in a Manufacturing or similar environment
  • Experience of factory design, layout, machine operation, facility process flow and continuous improvement.
  • Experience in managing CapEx Projects.
  • Experience of delivering CI training is desirable.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of Continuous Improvement techniques and processes.
  • Experience of work measurement and standard time setting techniques.
  • Exceptional ability to conceptualize large projects and foresee challenges and needs to be addressed.
