About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fitout Site Manager to oversee and manage Commercial & Industrial fitout projects ranging from £100k to £1.5m in the Northwest region. As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth execution of projects from start to finish, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of fitout processes, and a focus on delivering exceptional results for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of commercial and industrial fitout projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, direct, and motivate on-site teams, including subcontractors, labourers, and tradespeople, ensuring that they adhere to project requirements and quality standards.
  • Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress, addressing any concerns, and maintaining strong working relationships throughout the project.
  • Health & Safety Management: Ensure that all health and safety regulations are strictly followed on-site. Conduct regular safety audits, site inductions, and risk assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high-quality standards throughout the project by conducting regular inspections, ensuring that work meets design specifications, building codes, and client expectations.
  • Project Scheduling & Planning: Develop and manage detailed project schedules, coordinating resources, and ensuring that timelines are met. Monitor the progress of tasks and adjust plans as necessary to avoid delays.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project costs and ensure that all activities are completed within the agreed budget. Approve payments and verify invoices for subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Material Procurement: Oversee the procurement and timely delivery of materials and resources, ensuring that they meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • Subcontractor Coordination: Manage and coordinate subcontractors to ensure their work aligns with the overall project goals and schedule. Ensure that subcontractors comply with all contractual obligations and quality expectations.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, time sheets, material usage, and safety documentation. Report on project progress, potential issues, and any changes to scope or budget to senior management and clients.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous Site Management Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience as a Site Manager, preferably in commercial or industrial fitout projects.
  • Project Knowledge: Strong understanding of the processes involved in commercial and industrial fitouts, including relevant building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams, ensuring that projects run smoothly and that tasks are completed to the highest standards.
  • Health & Safety Awareness: In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations, with a proven track record of ensuring compliance on-site.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Experience managing project budgets and costs, ensuring that projects stay within financial constraints while maintaining high standards.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving abilities, with the ability to identify issues on-site and provide timely, practical solutions.
  • Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • IT Proficiency: Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to generate reports and track project milestones.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • CSCS Card: A valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card.
  • SMSTS Qualification: Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certification is highly desirable.
  • First Aid Training: First Aid at Work certification is a plus.
  • Experience in Commercial/Industrial Fitouts: Experience working on fitout projects within the commercial, industrial, or retail sectors, particularly in projects ranging from £100k to £1.5m.
  • Full UK Driving Licence: Willingness and ability to travel between multiple sites within the Northwest region.
