Recruitment Opportunity: Plant Manager - Chemical Sector

Location: St Helens (with travel to Trafford Park, Runcorn, and Ravenhead)Salary: £65,000 - £80,000 (Negotiable) + £6,480 annual car allowance + 15% company bonus + Private healthcare

We are currently recruiting for a Plant Manager to join a leading company within the chemical industry. The successful candidate will oversee the operations of multiple sites and lead a team of 11 direct reports. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong experience in chemical, gas, cooling, and refrigeration systems. The role offers the chance to work across a variety of locations including St Helens, Trafford Park, Runcorn, and Ravenhead.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing 11 direct reports across multiple sites, ensuring all operations run smoothly and efficiently.

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations across 4 sites, with a particular focus on safety, compliance, and process optimisation.

  • Working within a COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) regulated environment to ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Providing leadership and direction to the team while maintaining a strong focus on the development and training of direct reports.

  • Ensuring the successful delivery of operational targets while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree (preferred).

  • Experience in chemical, gas, cooling, and refrigeration systems.

  • Previous experience working within a COMAH site.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple sites and direct reports effectively.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, while maintaining safety and compliance standards.
