Night Shift - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: St Helens, Merseyside

Shift Pattern: 10-hour night shifts, 5 nights a week (20:00 - 06:00 or 21:00 - 07:00)

SRG is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading company in the waste management and recycling sector. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and help maintain essential machinery.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out nightly engineering checks, including fire-watch and machine inspections
  • Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) on conveyors, crushers, optical sorters, and motors
  • Respond to breakdowns and complete necessary repairs
  • Log work orders, report defects, and suggest process improvements

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (Essential)
  • Experience working with conveyors is highly desirable
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
