Mechanical Engineer

Location: St Helens
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE
Shifts: Permanent Days, Monday to Friday (8:00am-4:30pm)
Overtime: x1.5 Mon-Saturday (Morning), x2 Saturday (Afternoon) & Sunday.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain motors, pumps, gearboxes, fans, and other rotating equipment
Conduct AC & DC motor/armature rewinding
Perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions
Accurately report and log work using our job control system
Support and mentor engineering apprentices
Ensure compliance with industry standards and health & safety regulation.

Ideal Candidate:

Recognised apprenticeship in electro-mechanical engineering
NVQ level 3 is essential as a minimum.
10+ years of experience in the electric motor/pump repair industry (preferred)
Strong understanding of limits & fits
Ability to mentor and train junior engineers
Computer literate with good reporting skills
Full UK driving licence
Self-motivated, well-organized, and a strong problem-solver
