Early Years Teaching Assistant

You will be expected to immerse yourself in all aspects of the Early Years curriculum and assist Teaching staff in supporting pupils with complex needs in mainstream education. The school is surrounded by nature walks and has unique facilities on site for SEND. The school is part of the Forest school programme and encourages outdoor play and activities in Early Years Learning. They also have sensory facilities on site and a focus on art and non-verbal communication methods. Some children may need toileting due to age and needs. They are incredibly supportive of new staff members and aim to help staff progress their careers in education. The school teaches life skills alongside the curriculum and allows pupils to make positive contributions to their community. Your new school promotes an ethos of inclusion, diversity, mutual respect and the promotion of British values.Your new role.Your new role will see you working in the Early Years framework. You will be expected to track and report developmental stages in connection with the EYFS curriculum and immerse yourself in daily activities. You will work as part of a team with small groups of SEND and mixed-ability children and encourage independence within the school day. You will work with the class Teacher to plan and set up work for the day and meet pupils' educational needs to set them up for lifelong learning. You will build strong and positive relationships with pupils and staff.
