Randstad is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Duty Social Worker to join the team at St Helens Council. This role is essential in responding to referrals from MASH, completing assessments within 45-day timescales, and providing crucial support to children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to referrals from MASH and undertake thorough assessments.
  • Identify needs and implement short-term plans to support children and families.
  • Manage Child in Need (CIN) plans, ensuring timely step-downs or step-ups to ICPC.
  • Conduct Section 47 enquiries and work collaboratively with professionals to safeguard children.
  • Provide support for children and families in line with safeguarding principles.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration.
  • Significant experience in children and families safeguarding settings.
  • Skilled in handling Section 47 enquiries, CIN assessments, and multi-agency planning.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of Signs of Safety is desirable but not essential.

Working Arrangements:

  • Hybrid working (2 days a week in the office or full week if on duty).
  • On-call duty rotation: 1 week in 4.
