ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Prospero Teaching are recruiting on behalf of a specialist high school in St Helens who are looking for a Qualified SEN Level 3 TA to join their team.

The school is for children with significant social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Students attending may have witnessed developmental trauma, and the centre focusing on a tailored approach to learning.

The team are looking for someone to join them that can evident previous experience in a similar setting and that are strong and confident delivering a curriculum.

The school are looking for someone who is confident, dedicated and excels in behaviour management.

Resilience is also key in this role.

The role will consist of:-General class support with elements of class cover (one TA would work in Y3+4, and one TA would work in Y5+6) -Support groups and SEND support for the children in their designated classes -TAs supervise our lunch and break times Behaviour is a challenge, so we need staff who have good behaviour management skills, especially with SEND children, but who are also resilient. We have good support for staff in managing behaviour and offer support to the staff members themselves.

  • Providing tailored support and working with children with SEN (special education needs)
  • Creating a safe environment that allows the children to have fun, learn and succeed
  • Academic support of a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assisting the teacher

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Level 3 TA qualified or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience teaching mainstream curriculum
  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEN on a voluntary or paid basis
