Join our client's innovative team as a Financial Accountant and play a pivotal role in a major finance transformation project. This position will entail helping to consolidate several businesses into one legal entity. If you thrive in high-impact environments and are driven by operational and strategic challenges, this role is for you. This position is a 2-3 month contract which can pay an FTE of £50,000-£60,000 dependent on experience.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Compare sales and purchase ledger accounts, assist with setting up import files to ensure accurate data transfer and alignment.
  • Review and set up cost centres within the system to ensure proper categorisation of expenses and financial activities.
  • Review supplier lists, credit card information, and other financial data to identify what needs to be transferred. You will also be responsible for advising suppliers, communicating via email, letter, or phone as necessary to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Review and ensure all accreditations and insurances are up to date, including requirements for any necessary name changes.
  • Review bank accounts for direct debits (DDs) and standing orders (SOs), ensuring everything is correctly transferred as required for the project.
  • Assist in assessing reporting requirements, any necessary changes to business structures, and cost centre adjustments.
  • Support in the process of contract novation, ensuring the smooth transfer of obligations and rights from one party to another.
  • Aid in the transfer of suppliers to new accounts or systems as part of the project.
  • Assist with closing old accounts and ensuring all relevant details are transferred or archived correctly.
  • Help combine or move items to new finance schedules, including deferred income, fixed assets, and other financial records.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven track record in a senior finance position with an understanding of good processes, nominal and reporting structures.
  • Excellent communication skills and highly proficient in Excel.
  • Quick learner, able to absorb detailed financial and project information to navigate complex challenges.
  • Exceptionally strong with financials and ambitious in finding creative solutions quickly and at scale.
  • Knowledge of SAGE 200.
