Warehouse Shift Manager - St Ives, Cambridgeshire

This role requires you to manage and support across 2 shifts, see working hours below.

When required to oversee and manage the late shift (12.30am finish), you will be given notice on the shift change to make allowances for the change.

You will accrue 33 days holiday per year, and our client offers excellent hourly rates, and 15% uplift per hour when overseeing a late shift on your standard hourly rate, plus occasional overtime.

This vacancy is based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

A minimum of 2 years experience within warehouse management, and an educational background in Maths and English (or equivalent) is required.

Shifts for Shift Manager;

  • 07.30 to 16.00 Monday to Thursday
  • 07.30 to 13.00 Fridays

and

  • 16.00pm to 12.30 am Monday to Thursday,
  • 13.00 to 18.300pm Friday.

Main Duties for the Shift Manager;

Our client requires for you to proactively and confidently address operational challenges while maintaining a safety-first approach across the team.

Working closely with other departments, you will promote good cross functional working relationships that support seamless distribution operations.

  • A solid background in managing teams within a distribution environment, ensuring the smooth flow of operations.
  • Expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Proven experience in managing and leading diverse teams, with a leadership style that inspires and motivates.
  • A positive, enthusiastic attitude that fosters team engagement and a focus on the customer experience.
  • Someone who thrives on coaching and developing staff, helping them grow and succeed.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage day-to-day operations with minimal supervision.
  • A problem-solver who enjoys finding new ways to improve operations and increase efficiency.
  • A track record of consistently achieving goal targets (e.g., pick times, OTIF).
  • Educational background in Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Managing up to 70 colleagues, including agency personnel.
