Metal Polisher - Fettler / Metal Finisher

  • Immediate start available - Permanent position
  • Rate:£13.00 p/hr, plus Overtime paid to £19.50 p/hr (Time & a Half)
  • Location: St. Neots - Cambourne area - Own transport required due to location
  • Commutable from: Huntingdon, Cambridge, Sandy, St. Neots, Bedford, Biggleswade, Letchworth Garden City, Cambourne or Royston.

We are seeking a skilled Metal Polisher - Fettler / Metal Finisher to join this established Engineering company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal finishing techniques and be experienced in polishing and fettling metal components working on Stainless-Steel metal finishes. (Satin / Mirror / Shot Blast / Scotch-bright) to the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform metal finishing processes such as polishing, grinding, deburring, and fettling to achieve desired surface finishes on metal components
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications
  • Work with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and machinery to complete finishing tasks
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
  • You will be required to work in a confined area with extraction, though the environment may be quite dirty.
  • You will also be required to work on large machinery outside of the polishing shop due to the size of machines that are manufacturing.
  • You may be required to go on-site from time to time to help assist in the installation of the equipment to customers.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in polishing and fettling stainless Steel metal components
  • Strong knowledge of metal finishing techniques and processes
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Proficient in using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and machinery
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Working hours, standard week - 39-hour week.

Monday 7:30am - 4:00pm, Tuesday 7:30am - 4:30pm, Wednesday/Thursday 7:30am - 5:00pm and Friday 7:30am - 12.00noon
