Press Assistant

Our client, a manufacturer of specialist Print Packaging products in St Neots, currently has an immediate opportunity for a press Assistant. The Press Assistant assists the Print Minder throughout the shift to produce work that meets all customer requirements and specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • To assist the Print Minder with tasks throughout the shift, delivering good quality product within acceptable production times
  • Help to ensuremake readies are efficient&carrying out appropriate checks
  • Control the press feeder during productions runs, reducing stops to production and using non-stop pile changeovers for continuous production
  • To ensure all relevant materials and consumables required are available, clean and supplied in the correct quantity for each job
  • Responsible for replenishing consumables throughout the shift
  • Monitoring and maintain all material usage during production in order tomaximise press efficiency
  • Preparation of printing inks for subsequent runs to help achieve optimum changeover times
  • Ensure the housekeeping of machinery and the working area is maintained to a high standard
  • To work in a safe and responsible manner at all timesand operate within Company Health and Safety procedures and safe systems of work

Person Specification

  • Knowledge of the products, servicesandcapabilities of the business
  • High level of drive, self-motivation to achieve results through conscientious attitude
  • The ability to offer constructive suggestions for improvement
  • Attention to detail
  • Good mechanical knowledge,offering advice and practical solutions
  • Organisedwith the ability to work well under pressure
  • Willingness to continually learn and improve
  • Extremely adaptable, with a flexible approach to working hours
  • Knowledge of standards for Health and Safety.

Hours of Work and Pay

  • Rotating shift pattern 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm/10pm-6am
  • Upto 30k DOE
  • Free parking on site
  • Overtime available
