Management Accountant

Salary: £40k - £45k based on experience

Location: Staffordshire

management accounts function for a major logistics operation in the UK and Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate and timely information on all operations to the respective Management teams. This role requires a professional who can bring numbers to life in a clear manner for non-finance users, demonstrating excellent organisational and time management skills.

  • Work closely with Financial Controller and Financial Accountant

What you'll do:

As a Management Accountant, your primary responsibility will be leading the management accounts function, ensuring accurate and timely submission of reports. You will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Financial Controller, assisting in presenting monthly results to the Management team. Your role will also involve preparing P&L forecasts, assisting with annual budgets, maintaining account software integrity, and supporting cost reduction projects. This role requires regular travel to other UK sites, providing support from a Finance perspective.

  • Production of accurate monthly management accounts for both the UK and Ireland
  • Supporting the Chief Financial Officer / Financial Controller to present monthly results to the Management team
  • Preparing P&L forecasts on a timely and accurate basis
  • Assisting with the production of annual budgets
  • Maintaining the integrity of the accounts software and associated supporting TMS's master data
  • Supporting ad-hoc projects to improve processes or reduce costs within the organisation

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Management Accountant position is someone who has experience in a similar role and is actively studying their CIMA / ACCA qualification. You should have an excellent working knowledge of accounting systems and experience in balance sheet reconciliations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel at a medium/advanced level is essential. Strong influencing, written and oral communication skills are required along with the ability to deliver to deadlines.
