The Business

Seymour John are delighted to be working in exclusive partnership with our client based in Staffordshire who are keen to hire an additional member to their finance team due to business growth.

The Opportunity

Reporting to and supporting the Financial Controller in a developmental role where you will be exposed to varied accounting tasks with your responsibilities to include:

  • Posting month end journals and owning certain P&L lines for the group
  • Assistance with year-end audit
  • VAT returns across multiple sites
  • Balance sheet reconciliations - e.g Bank, cash/credit card reconciliations
  • Manage the groups intercompany invoicing
  • Process the companies’ expenses and petty cash receipts
  • Assistance with the purchase ledger and with supplier statement reconciliation
  • Processing of sales invoices onto the accounting system
  • Running the aged debtor report at period end and following up with stakeholders on outstanding debt
  • Manage the customer onboarding process and carry out credit checks on potential corporate clients
  • Involvement in ad-hoc projects

Personal Profile

We are looking to speak to candidates who have a good understanding of accounting fundamentals such as accruals and prepayments. Ideally you will be in your early stages of AAT or a graduate with a good level of practical experience looking at studying CIMA. You will have decent excel reporting skills and be able work with sophisticated IT finance systems. Due to the nature of this growing business you will need to be adapt and embrace change and continuously think of ways to improve processes.

Hours of Work

  • 8.30-5.00 (flexibility available)
  • Study Support / day releasee option
