Tendering Engineer (Automation)

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Tendering Engineer (Automation) on a Permanent basis, located in Staffordshire (Hybrid working available for people within reasonable commute)

Role Summary

• Day-to-day activities of the tendering function involve delivering a wide range of Automation solutions to our customers in the Energy Sector reporting to Head of Sales.
• The role will include assuming the bid lead or liaising with the bid lead and business head for the opportunity. This will include completing pre-qualification and/or proposal documentation; identifying and detailing solutions to address client requirements; preparing cost estimates and managing client queries.
• Exposure to the tendering environment will require some knowledge/experience of SCADA, HMI, PLC, DCS technologies and their associated architectures.
• Accompanied with an understanding of project lifecycles; design, implementation, testing, site installation and commissioning of these systems.
• You will interpret the client’s requirements, develop a solution and then identify suitable suppliers when required. Some travel to customer, or supplier sites is expected, either attending with the relevant sales lead, other BDEs or on your own.

Desirable Requirements

· At least 5 years’ experience in Automation industry (Digital, Control and Safety) - Software, Hardware or Electrical engineering with a good understanding of the engineering processes used in the development and execution of successful solutions.

· Experience of Tendering with and understanding of procurement processes and reasonable levels of commercial acumen commensurate with the role.

· Ability to produce technically and commercially comprehensive proposal documents

· Ability to meet tight deadlines

· Understanding of the Energy generator and renewable sector and its associated standards, with a Software bias

· Experience working with the major OEM (SCADA/PLC/DCS/Functional Safety) providers – Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider electric

· Basic knowledge of Cyber Security standards (62443) and their implementation
