Morgan Hunt are currently working with a well-established Housing Association in their search for a temporary Data Protection Advisor to support within the Governance team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced data protection professional to utilise their knowledge in a dynamic housing organisation.

You will be responsible for providing guidance on data protection, privacy and information governance matters across the organisation. You will also be processing data subject access requests, freedom of information requests, and manage data breach incidents.

The successful candidate will be someone with strong detailed knowledge and understanding of the GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. You must have the ability to interpret data, analyse information and make sensible decisions.

You must possess high integrity to handle sensitive personal data confidentially and also be self-motivated with commitment to excellent customer service.

Job Title: Data Protection Advisor

Location: Hybrid Working (Stafford)

Daily Rate: £16 per hour (PAYE/Umbrella)

Job Type: Temp Contract (3 months, may be extended)

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week)

Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on data protection, privacy and information governance matters across the organisation
  • Process data subject access requests, freedom of information requests, and manage data breach incidents
  • Maintain data protection registers, records and comply with GDPR requirements
  • Support implementation of the Data and Information Governance Strategy
  • Assist with business continuity planning and policy development related to data protection.

Person Specification

  • A Data protection qualification or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of data protection laws like GDPR and its application
  • Excellent communication skills to advise colleagues and explain complex matters
  • Ability to interpret data, analyse information and make sensible decisions
  • Possess high integrity to handle sensitive personal data confidentially and resilience in handling conflict and challenges
  • Be self-motivated with commitment to excellent customer service.
