About the Role: We are seeking for both Primary and Secondary Engineers to join a leading Engineering Contractor, with a focus on substation projects up to 400kV. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in primary or secondary engineering within the National Grid framework. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities for Primary Engineer:

  • Design and development of primary substation equipment and systems up to 400kV.
  • Ensure all designs comply with National Grid standards and other relevant regulations.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new projects.
  • Coordinate with secondary engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Participate in the commissioning and testing of substation equipment.
  • Provide technical support and guidance during the construction and operational phases.
  • Prepare detailed engineering documentation, reports, and specifications.
  • Ensure all work is completed within the agreed timeframe and budget.

Key Responsibilities for Secondary Engineer:

  • Design and implementation of secondary systems for substations up to 400kV.
  • Develop protection and control schemes in accordance with National Grid standards.
  • Conduct site assessments and technical evaluations.
  • Collaborate with primary engineers and other project stakeholders.
  • Participate in the commissioning and testing of secondary systems.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation, including schematics and reports.
  • Ensure project milestones are met within the specified timeframe and budget.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in primary engineering within the National Grid framework.
  • Extensive experience with substation projects up to 400kV.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
