Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Dermatologist to join our trusted healthcare partner across the East Midlands. This is a replacement post designed to maintain and expand comprehensive dermatology services.

You will be responsible for providing high-standard clinical care, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to clinical governance, research, and education. This role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to enhance dermatology services, including outpatient care and community initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provision of high-quality dermatology services, including diagnosis and treatment of skin conditions.
  • Shared responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Dermatology Service.
  • Teaching and training of junior staff and medical students.
  • Engagement in NIHR portfolio studies.
  • Active involvement in departmental and Trust clinical governance, research, and audit initiatives.
  • Ensuring personal participation in continuing medical education (CME).
  • Supporting the expansion of dermatology services across the East Midlands.

Person Specification:

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualifications: MBBS/MBCH or equivalent.
  • Full GMC Registration with a license to practice.
  • MRCP or equivalent.
  • Evidence of entry on the GMC Specialist Register (CCT or CESR) OR within 6 months of attaining CCT at the time of interview.
  • Eligibility to reside and work in the UK.
  • Comprehensive technical competence in General Dermatology and Skin Surgery.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in dermatology departments in the UK.

Desirable:

  • Paediatric dermatology or surgical experience.
  • Community clinic experience.
  • Current GCP and research experience.
  • Peer-reviewed publications.
