Employing over 300 people, the facility is responsible for the design, development and manufacture of large diesel engines which are used in Generator Sets for the Electric Power market. With a history stretching back 90 years, the applications are used as both Primary and Standby Generator power units in key facilities, infrastructures and buildings worldwide.

An ongoing position is available in our Logistics team as a FLT operative with some administrative duties.

Pay rate: £13.94 per hour - inclusive of shift allowance

Hours of work:

  • Thursday - 07:45 AM - 17:30PM
  • An average working week of 37 hours.
  • Overtime available.

Location: ST16 3UB

Responsibilities:

  • Warehouse duties to include picking, packing and scanning parts within a warehouse/stores environment
  • Operating various types of MHE inc, Counterbalance FLT, Aisle Masters, LLOP and Kalmar.
  • Prioritising Health and Safety by ensuring the use of correct PPE, following documented site practices and maintaining a 'See something, Say Something' approach.
  • Ensuring that no defect is past forward, raising Quality issues in a timely fashion while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Adhering to time restraints to exceed both internal and external customer requirements.
  • Some manual lifting will be required

  • Use of In-house systems
  • Complete necessary administration tasks relating to audits
  • Ensure completion of required audit schedules to meet deadlines
  • Running reports
  • As a valued team member, you will be expected to work individually and as part of a team

Requirements:

  • Previous MHE experience required. An RTITB or ITSAAR accredited licence preferred but Inhouse licences with the above Certified Trainer also accepted.
  • Some previous Operating Systems experience is preferred but not essential as all training will be given.
  • Motivation, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn. The successful candidate will have the drive to achieve targets and take the customer's view.
  • An understanding of safe working practices - adhering to Health & Safety and Environmental requirements.
  • Great attention to detail and a desire to solve problems.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
