Your new companyA large national employer is looking for a HR Advisor for 12 months to cover maternity.Your new roleI am currently recruiting a 12-month FTC for a national employer. This role is 4 days on site. They have a large HR team and sites in Trentham and Lichfield, so a longer-term opportunity may well become available in the 12-month period.Shift pattern: Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:00, 4 days on site, 1 day working from home. Fixed-term contract until March 2026

  • Working alongside another People Advisor to ensure the provision of a high-quality People service to all stakeholders at the site.
  • Supporting the People Manager and the wider team delivering the site people plan.
  • Developing effective relationships with and supporting the management team with ER casework, providing generalist support and advice, ensuring all company policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Supporting large-scale change projects and maintaining excellent relationships with the on-site employee forum.
  • Playing an active role in absence control and retention, ensuring contractual KPIs are achieved and maintained.
  • Proactively facilitate and champion employee engagement, Diversity & Inclusion and communications initiatives across the site.
  • Working collaboratively with People Advisor peer, jointly line managing and developing a team of 3 direct reports (People Assistants)
  • Responsibility for producing and reporting key people data and metrics to senior and customer stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed

  • Must be able to demonstrate relevant experience dealing with complex ER issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ideally, CIPD qualified, however we are passionate about creating opportunities to support personal learning and development within this role.
  • Comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of employment law.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential (both written and verbal), as is the ability to interact with staff at all levels.
