Job Description:

My client is looking for Probate Legal Secretary to join their team in Stafford. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to our probate department, ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of all probate-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Provide high-level secretarial support to probate solicitors, including managing correspondence, preparing legal documents, and maintaining client files.
  • Client Interaction: Liaise with clients, beneficiaries, and other stakeholders, ensuring excellent client care and communication.
  • Document Management: Draft, format, and proofread legal documents such as wills, grants of probate, and letters of administration.
  • Case Management: Assist with the management of probate cases, including tracking deadlines, scheduling appointments, and coordinating with other departments.
  • File Maintenance: Ensure all client files are up-to-date, accurately maintained, and securely stored.
  • Billing and Invoicing: Assist with the preparation of bills and invoices, and manage related financial documentation.
  • General Office Duties: Perform general office duties such as filing, photocopying, and answering phone calls.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a legal secretary, preferably within a probate or private client department.
  • Skills: Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and courteous manner.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
