My client a dynamic law firm based in Stafford, dedicated to delivering exceptional legal services in a wide range of practices is looking for a Legal Secretary to join our Litigation team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing litigation cases from inception to resolution, including maintaining case files, scheduling court dates, and tracking deadlines.
  • Document Preparation: Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery materials. Ensure accuracy and compliance with court standards.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as a liaison between clients and attorneys, handling client inquiries, scheduling appointments, and providing updates on case status.
  • Court Filings: Coordinate and manage electronic and paper filings with courts and other relevant authorities. Ensure timely submission of all required documents.
  • Administrative Support: Perform general administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, managing correspondence, maintaining calendars, and organizing meetings.
  • Research Assistance: Conduct legal research and gather relevant case information as directed by attorneys. Summarize findings and provide concise reports.
  • Billing and Invoicing: Assist with billing processes, including time entry, invoice preparation, and follow-up on outstanding payments.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably with a focus on litigation.
  • Proficient in legal terminology, procedures, and court systems.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Discretion and the ability to handle confidential information.
