Crane and Lifting Gear Field Service Engineer

£45,000 + van & pension

Crane and Lifting Gear Service Engineer in a small team that work closely together. The boss has worked as a field service engineer and knows how to look after the team with realistic workloads, ongoing training and the right equipment to get the job done right.

£45,000 to £48,000 total earnings is made of approx £40k basic + approx £5k overtime and paid travel time etc. There is also a van, pension and paid holiday.

Overtime and Paid Travel Time can be worth about £5,000, plus basic of £40k.

Paid travel time and overtime. Accommodation and food-travel expenses.

Mainly Monday to Friday, plus sometimes the need to stay away overnight.

Working with Demags and modern equipment including Siemens controls, camera guidance and digital alignment devices.

Crane and Lifting Gear Service Engineer, visiting industrial sites to service overhead cranes and lifting gear, and also working on installing and commissioning new equipment with colleagues.

Job activities

Visiting industrial sites as a lifting gear and cranes service engineer, to carry out servicing visits on cranes and overhead lifting gear.

Perform routine lifting gear safety checks, inspection and replacement of electrical components, checking sensors and contacts, servicing and replacing moving parts.

Support colleagues with installing new equipment.

Troubleshooting problems and making repairs.

Upgrading and modifying equipment.

Sometimes working at HQ to help the assembly team to wire the electricals on a new piece of equipment.

Inspect equipment to ensure safety standard are met.

Career progression includes training on new equipment, and the option to get more involved with the work that you enjoy the most ranging from service engineer work to installing and commissioning.

£45,000 to £48,000 total earnings: £40k basic + approx £5k overtime and paid travel time. Some of the team can take home £50,000 or more before tax.

There is also a van and the usual pension and paid holiday etc.

Ongoing training in the latest equipment and the chance to specialise in certain things if youre interested.
