Job Description

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer / Team Leader to join one of our prestigious clients based in Stafford!

This family-run business specialises in the dairy sector, supplying a wide range of products to businesses across the Midlands. Youll become part of a small, dynamic engineering team where there are excellent opportunities for progression.

This is a Full-Time, Permanent position!

What youll be doing

  • Oversee a small team of 5 engineers, assigning tasks and responsibilities
  • Monitor performance and support with training needs
  • Take a hands-on approach and support the team with planned and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Perform a mix of both Mechanical and Electrical and repairs
  • Maintenance of Filling Machines, Wrapping Machines, Inverters, Labelling Machines, Robotics, Pneumatic Systems, Conveyors, Motors, PLCs, Gearboxes, Control Systems, Valves, Pumps etc
  • Work closely with the Engineering Manager, providing regular updates
  • Motivate the team, address any issues and encourage team morale
  • Act as a liaison between the engineering team and senior management
  • Ensure the site is operating safely at all times
  • Onboarding and training new starters

Hours

Full-time, 40 hours (Days)

Shift pattern: Potentially Monday to Friday with rotating weekends, or 4-on-4-off shifts (to be confirmed)

Pay

£40,000 - £42,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

Skills/Experience Required

Essential

  • Proven experience managing a team of engineers in a production, manufacturing, recycling, or industrial environment
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong understanding of health and safety protocols
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be flexible to meet business needs

Desirable

  • Multi-skilled in both mechanical and electrical engineering
  • MIG Welding experience
  • 18th Edition qualification
