Position Title: Maintenance Engineer (Multi-skilled)
Location: Hixon, Staffordshire
Salary: 40K-50K (4 day week, Mon-Thur, 36 hours per week)

The Engineering Team are looking to fill the role ofMulti Skilled Engineer(electrically bias) in their Hixon facility. As a member of the Engineering Team, you will work as part of a team and be responsible for maintaining and repairing the manufacturing equipment. Responsible for onsite repairs, unforeseen breakdowns and conducting the preventative and day to day maintenance on a continuous process production plant. The ability to diagnose and communicate electrical and/or mechanical faults with machinery ensuring we achieve production company targets and objectives, promoting operational excellence at all times.
As a multi-skilled maintenance engineer you should have experience and skilled within electrical, electrics & mechanical.
The successful candidate will:
- Responsible for supporting all engineering breakdowns, diagnosing faults as soon as possible and replacement of machine parts
- Rectifying all hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical issues
- Enhancing, repairing and maintaining all the Plant, Equipment and Services within the manufacturing facility as per the preventative maintenance schedule and updating the maintenance log
- Assisting with the installation and commission of new machinery and equipment with the support of specialist Tool Room Engineers
- Involvement with improvement projects during planned downtime and identifying engineering solutions to maximise efficiency of the plant
- To maintain a relationship with appropriate plant and services contractors/ suppliers and arrange for such suppliers to undertake the engineering works that are required through breakdowns, maintenance and project/ enhancement work
- To organise and maintain the technical database
- Order spares / consumables required to support the engineering activities that will be undertaken in house or by a contracted company
- Work closely with Production, Tool Change and Tool Room teams to effectively achieve the required engineering outcome
- Operate within key Engineering and Health & Safety codes
- Any other tasks as requested by Management
- Targets: Number of T Cards closed to target, scrap below set target, minimal machine downtime, planned maintenance and project work to be completed in cost and on time.
The successful candidate will:
- Ability to stand and/or sit for up to 6 hours or more per day, in various climates
- Fast-paced environment: subject to numerous priority changes and short-notice activity
- 17thEdition Wiring Regulations
- Level 3 NVQ or Equivalent in Electrical or Multi Skilled Engineering
- GCSE Grade C and above or equivalent Maths and English
- Proven working knowledge of plant maintenance and repairs including: Hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic and mechanical systems
- Able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-growing business and meet tight deadlines
- Understanding of health and safety processes and safe methods of working
- Displays safe and considerate working practices.
