As the Production Manager, you will be leading their Staffordshire based facility & you will have the opportunity to impact the business by driving sustainable change.

This leading manufacturer develop an array of specialist products & are looking to do so in the most effective, efficient & safe way possible. The Production Manager will lead the production unit into the next phase of their journey. You will be instrumental in driving best practices by supporting the improvement of their operational processes.

Description

As the Production Manager, you will be managing a production team, driving operational excellence by instilling a continuous improvement & safety culture. You will support the senior management team & will collaborative cross functionally to ensure consistent end to end processes. This is an opportunity to be the driving force behind their production improvement plan & lead the training & development of the production team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead, manage & direct the Production team, managing & maintaining the key objectives, in line with site budgets & KPIs
  • Implementation of manufacturing improvement methodologies
  • Working with planning & supply chain teams to ensure production meets demand requirements
  • Overseeing quality systems to ensure specifications & product expectations are met in a cost-effective manner
  • Work closely with the Environment, Health & Safety Manager to ensure all operations on site are in accordance with the EH&S expectations & the local / national regulating authorities
  • Develop & implement improvement tools & techniques to reduce or eliminate operating problems & improve product cost, quality, delivery performance & customer satisfaction
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement & drive improvement initiatives (e.g. 6S, waste reduction & cost reduction projects)
  • Use methods such as LEAN to reduce overall costs of production & levels of waste, whilst increasing OTIF & meeting all quality criteria
  • Create an environment of employee engagement, training & succession to create a high performance, motivated work culture & continuous improvement environment

Profile

An Production Manager with significant end to end batch manufacturing experience & the following:

  • Experience within a similar role within a comparable manufacturing environment
  • Experience managing & developing a production team
  • Experience of implementing continuous improvement manufacturing techniques (e.g. 5S/6S, lean, Six Sigma etc.)
  • HSE awareness
  • A proactive & results focused approach delivered through effective KPI management
  • Excellent communication at all levels
  • Strong team player, who has demonstrated ability to coach & develop reports to deliver their maximum potential

Job Offer

Circa £55,000 - £65,000 + Additional Benefits
