Role: Performance Engineer

My client is one of the leading engine manufacturers, a well-established company in the automobile sector in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive testing of diesel engine performance and emissions parameters, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze test data to identify areas for improvement and optimization, focusing on performance, fuel efficiency, and emissions reduction.
- Develop and implement calibration strategies to enhance engine performance and emissions characteristics.
- Investigate and resolve engine failures and defects, using a structured problem-solving approach and industry-standard methodologies.
- Prepare clear and concise technical reports summarizing test results, analysis findings, and failure investigations.
- Collaborate effectively with other engineers, technicians, and project teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Stay abreast of emerging industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements in diesel engine performance and emissions.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in diesel engine performance and emissions calibration.
- Strong understanding of diesel engine operating principles, performance characteristics, and emissions control technologies.
- Proven experience in conducting engine test procedures and analyzing test data.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard test equipment and software tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
