Technical Manager – North West

The Company

  • My client is a well established manufacturing business, supplying high quality products and solutions to the UK construction industry.
  • They are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to support their sales team with technical and commercial expertise to optimise successful outcomes and exceed customer expectations.

The Role

  • As Technical Manager, you will secure business success by effectively managing the technical support team and delivering technical support to ultimately provide an enhanced customer experience.
  • Assisting and supporting the sales team in developing and maintaining their technical and business knowledge, enabling them to manage technical enquiries and confidently contribute in customer / stakeholder meetings.
  • Ensuring that product testing, data capture and certification is upheld and maintained to at least the required industry standard.
  • Managing technical manuals, specifications and documentation, ensuring compliance with both company and UK standards.
  • Delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Managing training requirements to internal teams, stakeholders and customers.
  • Keeping abreast with legislative, professional body and industry standards and be able to predict potential changes in the sector.
  • Managing customer complaints though effective analysis, applying technical knowledge to dissect, understand and resolve the issue.
  • Proactively contribute to product and process development.

The Candidate

  • An experienced Technical Manager or equivalent, ideally with a degree or similar in a construction / building industry related discipline, together with demonstrable expertise in successfully fulfilling a similar role.
  • Good decision making, influencing and people management skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence positively at all levels.
  • Excellent technical knowledge and ability.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, empowering management style.
  • Effective coaching and training skills, with the ability to develop skill sets and knowledge within the team.
