Quality Inspector (Manufacturing Experience)

Contract: 6 Months

Location: Stafford

Rate: Negotiable dependant on experience

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Our Client has a requirement for a Quality Inspector, who will be required to work on a Contract basis in Stafford.

Role Purpose:

As one of the Valves Manufacturing Quality Inspectors for Stafford, you will be responsible for assessing manufacturing quality compliance within the HVDC and FACTS manufacturing facility in Stafford. This will involve coordinating with the Production teams to conduct final inspection activities, conduct sample inspection activities throughout production to verify compliance to standards and perform production auditing, to manage reported defects to product or process through NCR process and to support Continuous Improvement for the department.

Job Role Responsibilities:

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. - dial callipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometres, gauges, etc.) as required within department.
  • Perform final quality inspection and to perform Incoming inspection.
  • Utilize manual or automated measurement and testing equipment to assure quality of products.
  • Perform visual & dimensional inspections and set area management of the parts.
  • Ensure quality of parts meet specification requirements.
  • Prevent non-conforming parts from proceeding to the next workstation.
  • Collect data, feedback on the quality of parts inspected to the Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Engineers
  • Identify and document non-conforming parts.
  • Inspect all raw materials and purchased parts to determine conformance to requirements.
  • Work with team members to find creative solutions to address complex problems.
  • Investigate defects and coordinate with Engineering and supplier quality engineers to manage rework/scrap/investigation as necessary.
  • Perform and support internal quality audits.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of related work experience in Quality or Manufacturing environment or 5+ years related work experience in Quality or Manufacturing environment.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience in using manual and automated measurement and test equipment for dimensional inspection activities.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment essential.
