Key Responsibilities:
- Source and procure materials, equipment, and services for groundworks and civil engineering projects
- Manage supplier relationships and negotiate pricing to ensure cost-effective purchasing
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure timely deliveries to meet project schedules
- Evaluate suppliers based on quality, pricing, and delivery timelines
- Collaborate closely with the project and site teams to forecast material needs and prevent supply delays
- Work with the commercial team to ensure procurement aligns with project budgets
- Monitor stock levels and manage reorders, ensuring waste is minimised and resources are optimised
- Stay up-to-date with market trends and new products in the civil engineering and construction sectors
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Buyer in the groundworks or residential groundworks sector
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proficiency in using procurement software and systems
- Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset
