PSR Solutions are currently recruiting for an Quantity Surveyor to join one of our Clients in Stafford. The Business is an established Construction business who is one of the fastest growing Companies within the drywall market.

Working on a mixture of projects for both Private Clients and Main Contractors, the projects mainly cover the Residential, High Rise Accommodation and Care Home sectors up to 3.5m in value. As a Trainee / Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'd be working predominantly office based, but travelling to sites as and when required.

Trainee / Assistant Quantity Surveyors Duties:

  • Producing material and labour sheets.

  • Controlling budgets

  • Working with the project team to ensure projects are done accurately and within budget.

  • Make certain that costs are controlled, and process are adhered to.

  • Supporting the QS with daily activities.

  • Producing job expenditure checks.

  • Resolve any issues that may arise reactively and proactively.

  • Writing reports.

  • Minimising risk and ensuring adherence to Health & Safety rules.

  • Attend client meetings.

  • Site visits.

  • You may also be required to assist the estimating department from time to time.

About the Trainee / Assistant Quantity Surveyor:

  • HNC in construction minimum or working to achieve it currently.

  • Someone who has the capability to work both in a team and independently.

  • Knowledge of drylining / plastering preferred but not essential

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Experienced and competent with IT systems (excel, outlook and word) and a willingness to learn new systems and processes.

  • Competent in math and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to work to deadlines and use initiative.

  • An understanding of Surveying and Estimating is preferred but not essential.

  • A good level of communication skills both verbally and written.
