Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established groundworks and civil engineering contractor based in Stafford. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a range of commercial and residential projects, delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Cost Management: Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.
  • Tendering and Procurement: Compile and issue tender packages, negotiate contracts, and procure materials and subcontractors.
  • Valuations and Variations: Prepare and submit valuations, manage variations, and ensure timely payment applications.
  • Contract Management: Administer contracts, resolve disputes, and ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Financial Reporting: Produce accurate financial reports, including forecasts, cash flow, and cost-to-complete.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within budget.


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the groundworks or civil engineering sector.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT) and their administration.
  • Proficient in cost estimation, procurement, and financial management.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
