Domiciliary care is a very rewarding carer as you will work with clients on a 1-to-1 or 2-to-1 basis, allowing you to build longstanding professional relationships with each client.

The main duties of a Domiciliary Health Care Assistant will include:

  • - Providing personal care, including but not limited to - washing, dressing, nutrition and hydration
  • - Providing social, emotional and physical support to clients
  • - Domestic duties such as dusting, vacuuming and changing bed linens
  • - Meal preparation
  • - Support with activities
  • - Support with medication needs
  • - Companionship

The ideal Domiciliary Care Assistant will:

  • - Have an NQV Level 2 or above in health and social care or be willing to work towards one.
  • - Have previous relevant training to the job role or be willing to attend training.
  • - Have previous domiciliary healthcare experience (not essential)
  • - Have a DBS check dated within 3 months or be prepared to register for one
  • - Be flexible, reliable and committed
