About the Role: We are looking to appoint a passionate and proactive Intervention Specialist to work on a one-to-one basis with a Key Stage 4 pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, as well as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a part-time, long-term position, working three days per week.
The successful candidate will deliver pre-planned lessons, helping the pupil to engage with their education in a supportive, tailored environment. You will be responsible for keeping accurate records of the pupil's progress, including monitoring and reporting on their academic development and behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-planned lessons designed to meet the specific needs of a KS4 pupil with SEMH and ASD.
- Create a supportive learning environment that encourages engagement, progress, and positive behaviour.
- Keep detailed records of the pupil's academic and behavioural progress, identifying areas for improvement and growth.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the pupil's individual needs are met.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with the pupil, providing encouragement and motivation to foster academic success.
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers to provide updates on progress and any necessary interventions.
About You: We are looking for an individual with excellent communication and relationship-building skills who is passionate about supporting students with additional learning needs. You should have experience working with pupils with SEMH and ASD, and be able to adapt and deliver lessons in a way that supports their unique learning style.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with pupils with SEMH and/or ASD is essential.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Ability to keep accurate records of progress and behaviour.
- A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students' needs.
- Experience in delivering pre-planned lessons is desirable.
