We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join this dynamic team. This role is crucial for generating revenue and building market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships. You will be instrumental in selling specialist software products to enhance administrative efficiency and managing key client accounts.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • New Business Development:
    • Prospect for potential new clients and convert these opportunities into increased business, focusing on larger sites and opportunities.
    • Identify potential clients and key decision-makers within their organisations.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with new clients.
    • Collaborate with the team to plan approaches and develop proposals tailored to client needs, concerns, and objectives.
    • Participate in pricing solutions/services and handle objections to reach a positive conclusion.
  • Client Retention:
    • Manage key accounts in conjunction with the Chief Legal Officer, maintaining long-term relationships and maximising sales opportunities.
    • Present new products and services to enhance existing relationships.
    • Act as the main contact for client cancellations to maximise client retention.
  • Business Development Planning:
    • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, to network and gather market intelligence.
    • Provide feedback on market trends and ensure individual performance targets are met.
    • Play an active role in the training of sales staff.
  • Reporting and Tracking:
    • Submit progress reports ensuring data accuracy.
    • Manage data within the company’s CRM system.
    • Forecast sales targets and track activities on accounts to meet these targets.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Business Development role with a focus on sales and winning new business Preferably within Software sales or Healthcare Sales, but not essential.
  • Proven track record in consultative selling and generating leads.
  • Experience in account management.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM systems.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Experience in the Private Healthcare industry is advantageous but not essential.
