Business Development Manager

CantelloTayler Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join a growing organisation based in Staines. A hybrid role after probation, with competitive benefits.

£40,000 per annum, plus £20,000 OTE, no car or car allowance.

The Business Development Manager responsibilities include:

  • Develop a growth strategy focused on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct research, fact finding and explore broad ranging customer contacts to identify new markets and customer needs.
  • Arrange regular telephone and where appropriate face to face meetings with customers and prospects.
  • Promote products/services to address customer objectives and make presentations where needed.
  • Support customers where appropriate to ensure their regulatory, contractual and law established rules and guidelines are adhered to.
  • Keep an accurate and up to date log/report (within the CRM and individually) of all contacts, development conversations, pipeline business, forecasts and sales made.
  • Develop strong business relationships with customers.
  • Maximise business relationships and engagement to minimise any potential lapses or cancellations
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences
  • Provide feedback and information on market and current trends
  • Responsible for achieving individual performance and sales targets
  • Active role in training of sales staff.

The Business Development Manager required skills and experience:

  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • 5+ years in a Business Development environment with a focus on sales and winning new business.
  • Proven business development manager who is used to working to targets
  • Proven track record in consultative selling and winning new business
  • Proven track record of increasing revenue through generation of leads
  • Account management experience
  • Ability to manage and track lead generation and a sales pipeline through CRM or a sales management system
  • Experience in the Private Healthcare industry advantageous but not essential
  • Must be organised, adaptable, flexible and a good team player
  • Ability to plan and manage time effectively
  • Good analytical skills, able to make sense of data and report on it
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Tenacious and creative sales approach
  • Driven and motivated by results
  • Strong presenter, negotiator, and influencer
  • A self-starter who can spot new opportunities
  • Able to work as part of team
  • Drive, initiative and enthusiasm
