Business Development Executive

Salary: £30,000 basic + £8k OTE

Role Purpose: Generate revenue and build market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships. Sell my clients products to help clients improve administrative efficiency and provide account management to key client accounts.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business with a focus on individual specialist solutions.
  • Maintain long-term relationships with accounts and maximize sales opportunities with them.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop proposals that address client needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Support the development of existing and new products to meet customer needs by working with appropriate functions and internal colleagues.
  • Present new products and services to enhance existing relationships.
  • Participate in pricing solutions/services.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements, and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and current trends.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and management within the company’s sales management system/CRM.

Person Specifications:

Qualifications:

  • Ideally a graduate with 1-2 years’ experience in a sales environment.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in account management.
  • Understanding of medical/clinical terminology advantageous.
  • Experience in the Private Healthcare industry advantageous but not essential.
  • Awareness and understanding of CRM or a sales management system.

  • Tenacious and creative sales approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Good analytical skills, able to make sense of data and report on it.
  • Ability to plan and manage time effectively.
  • Organised, adaptable, flexible, and a good team player.
  • Willingness to learn new skills, drive change, and solve problems using initiative.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Appreciation of the importance of legal and regulatory frameworks.

  • Monday to Friday position with a 35-hour working week (40 hours including one-hour lunch break).
