Teaching Assistant | Stanwell Moor Road, Close to T5 Heathrow | 35 hours per week, term time only | Monday – Friday 9am - 4.30pm | £22,650 per annum (inc. Holiday)

Green Corridor is a dynamic UK registered Charity, working to improve the lives of 16-25 year olds with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through our various pathways and functional skills programmes. We run a section 41 Post-16 provision with about 50 learners on roll.

You will be able to work effectively with our learners who each have their own additional needs. You should ideally have experience and/or affinity for working with young adults with Special Educational Needs.

The role would involve supporting learners within their subject area, and functional skills, encouraging them to reach their full potential.

The following criteria are essential for this role

  • Level 2 Award in Education and Training or willingness to work towards
  • Ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS clearance for Child and Adult Workforce
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Proactive, self-motivated, can-do attitude

What will your role look like?

Supporting Young People

  • Assist the tutor in creating a suitable learning environment and lesson planning
  • Monitor and assess learners' progress, using tools like PECS, Makaton, symbols, and iPads
  • Help develop, implement, and evaluate learning plans and classroom resources
  • Build positive relationships with learners, acting as a role model and fostering high expectations
  • Communicate effectively with learners using various systems for speech and language support
  • Promote inclusion, independence, and cooperation among learners while addressing individual needs
  • Provide feedback to learners and tutors, maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Collaborate with specialists (SALT, OT, Physio) to follow safety, learning, and therapy advice

Wellbeing and Safeguarding

  • Engage with parents/carers, promoting Green Corridor's values and handling conflicts appropriately
  • Supervise learners on trips, during breaks, and out-of-school activities
  • Administer first aid and perform Team Teach/MAPA if needed

Professional Development

  • Complete 30 hours of CPD annually and pursue relevant qualifications
  • Maintain an updated Professional Development Plan

Other Duties

  • Undertake tasks necessary to meet contract or organisational goals as assigned by the CEO or line manager
