I am recruiting for a QMS (Quality Management Systems) Assessment Manager for a repeat client specialising in the assessment & accreditation of UK organisations. The successful candidate will have experience working with (but ideally for) an accredited Certification Body, focusing on Quality Management Systems (QMS), bringing a wealth of experience in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of accreditation & assessment within this field. A background in aviation, aero or defence would be beneficial. This is a full-time remote position, working from 9am–5pm, Monday to Friday with occasional weekend travel. You should expect to travel for up to 2-3 days per week, with at least 2 night spent away from home. 

Main Duties: 

  • The post calls for someone with a real passion for quality and a strong track record of working within accredited Certification Body.

  • The Assessment Manager is the key focal point for customers. You’ll be expected to meet their reasonable accreditation expectations with objectivity, diligence, and excellent customer service.
  • You will also be responsible for selecting assessment teams, establishing the assessment approach, leading the assessment/coordinating the team, collating and reporting each assessment, progressing each assessment project from start to finish.
  • The position involves extensive travel, mainly within the UK, with frequent overnight stays. A UK driving license is therefore essential. 

Key Requirements: 

  • Relevant hands-on experience, a broad knowledge of QMS (beneficial if within aviation, aero or defence sectors) - essential.
  • Must have a minimum of 2x ISO including IOS 9001 - essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of either ISO/IEC 17021, ISO/IEC 17065, AS9100 (or similar) and its implementation - essential.
  • Strong working knowledge of either ISO 13485 or ISO 27001 - desirable.
  • Be customer-focused with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisation skills - essential.
  • Must hold a UK driving license and own vehicle - essential.
  • Have experience in organisation auditing or assessment - essential.
  • Commercial-minded with excellent people and project management skills
  • Be educated to degree level. This is desirable, but not essential.
