Reeson Education is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an independent special needs school in Stalybridge. This nurturing setting supports both primary and secondary-aged pupils with a range of complex needs, providing a tailored education to help them thrive. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity, meaning successful candidates will have the chance to secure a long-term role within the school.
Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:
- Supporting small class groups with diverse learning and social needs
- Working closely with teachers and support staff to provide a structured and engaging environment
- Helping pupils who have struggled in mainstream settings to build confidence and develop key life skills
- Adapting learning strategies to meet the individual needs of each pupil
- Encouraging emotional and social development in a calm, low stimulation setting
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support as a teaching assistant to enhance learning outcomes
Requirements for the Teaching Assistant:
- A passion for supporting children with special educational needs
- A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to working with pupils of varying abilities
- Experience in SEN settings or working with children with additional needs is advantageous
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and pupils
