  • Our client is growing its team and is looking to recruit either a Junior or experienced Accountant. Based in Thurrock, offering an extremely friendly working environment within a fast paced business. This position will suit either a person that is looking to develop your career within accounting from a base level (full time) or equally a person who is experienced in bookkeeping / accountancy and looking to work as part-time (3 days per week). Support will be given to a person that wants to become a qualified accountant whilst in the role with study days, paying for exams etc.

Day to day duties

  • Day to day bookkeeping
  • Payroll support.
  • VAT reconciliations.
  • Recording all accountancy / financial transactions daily.
  • Issuing payment invoices and receipts to clients.
  • Monitor outstanding invoices and clients debtors list.
  • Preparing and submitting periodic financial reports to management.
  • Performing account reconciliations.
  • Reviewing expenditures of the company such as payroll and petty cash expenses.
  • Assisting with asset audits, as necessary.
  • Assisting with other accounting tasks, as assigned by a supervisor.

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role.
  • Open to hearing from people who have relevant experience and are retired but looking to get back to work as part-time.
  • Knowledge of Xero would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Junior candidates welcome, either part qualified or fully qualified
  • Hard-working, diligent individuals
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong maths skills
