Traffic Operator– Are you passionate about logistics and ready to deliver exceptional customer service? If so, we are looking for dynamic Traffic Operator to join our Support team in London Gateway, Stanford – le – Hope, Essex on a full-time basis.

Your role:

As a Traffic Operator, you will be part of a highly dedicated and professional team, which is responsible for delivering the highest quality of service to an internationally dedicated client base. The main purpose of your role will be to provide an efficient and cost-effective collection and delivery service using sub-contract haulage and optimal ferry routes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Day to day planning to ensure customer delivery times are met whilst ensuring maximum productivity
  • Communicating with sub-contractors to ensure the drivers are fully aware of their individual timetable
  • Matching collections and deliveries to the satisfaction of the customer’s needs whilst bearing in mind the need to operate in a cost-effective manner
  • Informing the Commercial team of any likely service failures
  • Make ferry bookings
  • Constant monitoring of the day’s planning and adjusting where necessary
  • Dealing with relevant administration work, such as updating computer systems, driver queries and updating load registers
  • Always ensuring legal compliance, including ensuring drivers are complying with basic safety guidance regarding load security.

About you:

You will need to have good geographical knowledge of UK, Ireland and Europe, including tolls and tunnel restrictions. Knowledge of UK/EU customs requirements. Sound IT skills, including MS Office and MS Teams. Have good time management, organisational and communication skills. Able to manage multiple tasks under pressure and to prioritise and make decisions quickly. Flexibility to work alternating shift patterns which includes weekend working, holiday and absence cover. There is a requirement to cover out of hours phone calls.
