Noble Recruiting are currently recruiting a confident and experienced Customs Freight Forwarder to join our friendly and proactive Client in Stanford-Le-Hope.

Due to the nature of our roles, candidates must be a UK Resident residing within the local area. Please note we cannot offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.

The core function in this role as Customs Freight Forwarder is to perform independently from start to finish of all shipment administration relating to customs and other formalities. You will ensure all shipments comply with all applicable procedures, laws and regulations and constantly seek to improve our levels of efficiency and service provision.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Independently accept, oversee and handle shipments according to arrangements agreed with customers.
  • Independently check tariff headings for customs duties, agricultural levies, VAT and similar.
  • Prevent, observe and deal with irregularities and problems concerning processes, procedures, work instructions and systems.
  • Update stakeholders concerning import and export restrictions, or unforeseen charges.
  • At all times maintain and develop contacts with other departments, (potential) customers, suppliers, government agencies and other stakeholders for the purpose of work progress.
  • Work closely with the Manager to propose and implement improvements regarding efficiency, quality, customer satisfaction, profitability and broadening of the service range.

You will need:

  • Confident and outgoing individual.
  • Experience of 3rd World Imports desirable.
  • Experience using Destin8 & CNS systems.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to communicate in a clear, concise, and logical manner both verbally and written.
  • Be able to organise and multi-task.
  • Worked within a Freight Forwarding environment within the last 12 months.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Driver with own transport is desirable.
  • UK resident and the right to work in the UK.
