Job Purpose

To oversee and coordinate warehouse team activities, ensuring smooth and efficient operations in areas such as picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory management. The Warehouse Team Leader ensures safety compliance, meets performance targets, and fosters team development.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Team Supervision
    • Lead, manage, and motivate a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
    • Ensure that all team members are adequately trained and follow operational procedures.
    • Schedule shifts and assign tasks based on business needs.
  2. Operational Efficiency
    • Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring processes are followed correctly and efficiently.
    • Manage workflows and prioritize tasks to meet production schedules and dispatch deadlines.
    • Monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as pick/pack rates, order accuracy, and on-time delivery.
  3. Inventory Management
    • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels through cycle counting and stock audits.
    • Ensure that stock is properly stored, labeled, and easily accessible.
    • Report inventory discrepancies and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve issues.
  4. Health & Safety
    • Ensure all warehouse activities comply with health and safety standards.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and ensure safe operation of warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
    • Provide ongoing safety training to staff and address potential hazards promptly.
  5. Communication & Coordination
    • Act as the primary point of contact for team members regarding daily issues and escalations.
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics, production, and customer service, to meet business goals.
    • Participate in regular meetings with senior management and contribute to performance reviews and operational improvements.
  6. Quality Control
    • Ensure that goods are picked, packed, and dispatched according to customer requirements.
    • Monitor the quality of inbound and outbound shipments, reporting and resolving any issues promptly.
    • Implement continuous improvement practices to enhance overall warehouse efficiency.
  7. Reporting & Documentation
    • Prepare and maintain records of warehouse performance metrics, such as output, quality, and safety.
    • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the Warehouse Manager as required.
    • Use warehouse management software (WMS) to track inventory and manage operations.

Health & Safety Awareness: Knowledge of workplace safety regulations and practices, including operating equipment safely.

Shifts: 6am till 2pm / 2pm till 10pm (swing shifts)
